Music

Trying to pass myself off as a Euro hipster been to a couple of concerts. One was a festival on the Danube featuring electronic music. The music was mostly electronic, and strangely, much of the crowd didn't dance, even those standing just in front of the cafe, but watched, expressionless, with their arms crossed. They looked like their dog just died. My friend and I referred to it as shoe-gazing. The more recent concert attended was more spirited. Saw 1980s English-band Depeche Mode at a big Socialist-era soccer stadium. The stadium was a rusted, fading landmark to a faded time. The music was good, and the crowd larger and more festive crowd-though the band's attempt at audience sing alongs fell completely flat. And to add to the experience,in a strangely fun way, during the concert the sky poured buckets of rain and after we had to almost swim through small lakes to exit the stadium and find a taxi home.

Oh dear and it dared rain on your parade. But please inform: from whence this band Depeche Mode? Sounds a tad Frenchish, and was wondering in which language the revelers did not sing along. Oh yes, did you bring your umbrella?

awesome, Hugh! I don't know much of Depeche Mode's music, but I know they are classic. Sounds fun.

I think it is funny that your crowd watched expressionless with their arms crossed. Yesterday was the first time I saw Brazilians in that state, and it was because they were 2 goals behind the USA in a soccer game. Brazil still won, dang it.
